About Me
My name is Krisztina and I am the founder of Languru. I am a professional English and Hungarian as a second language teacher (MA) and mentor.
In the picture you can see me with one of my business groups in Germany.
Teaching is an inseparable part of me. It's my profession and passion.
Growing up in London, studying and working in the USA, Denmark, The Netherlands, Spain and Germany gave me an exclusive privilige in my life to master the art of language learning and teaching through businesses. Since 2011, I’ve been working with numerous companies in Germany as an English language coach applying the PBL (Problem Based Learning) method or CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning) which is not only one of the most effective ways of learning any language but provides a relaxed and supportive atmosphere for my learners.
Returning to Hungary in 2016 I was very motivated to share some of these approaches about second language acquisiton. I set up on a mission to reintroduce a language learning culture, a culture that has always been the norm in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, where people speak close to perfect English without worrying about thier mistakes.
Learning English is a beautiful journey that will take you and your business to places you have never even imagined. Let me be your guide.
“A new language is a new life”
About Languru
The name "Languru" is a combination (or blend) of language and guru. In the sanskrit language a guru is somebody who is more than a teacher. A guru a wise mentor who only shows others the light and the path and rather than giving them a fish, teaches them how to catch a fish.
At Languru this is also our aim: not only to give you language knowledge, but teach you HOW to learn a language so you can do it yourself without a teacher.
The logo is a puffin bird. The puffins are, no surprise, extremely good at catching fish. They can cath and keep up to 12 fish in their beaks at the same time. But this is not the only reason I’ve chosen this particular type of bird. The puffin represents Denmark, Norway, Iceland and Finnland. These countries are the best at applying those kinds of language learning methods and skills that 21st centry people need.
The hat and bowtie refers to the English gentleman and therefore represents the English speaking culture.
So the logo and the name is also a blend of cultures, methods and philosophies: The Nordic, The English, and the Eastern.
