Learning a Language Is Like Having A Romantic Relationship

When you are in love, the whole world stops and you can only think of that person only.

You want to spend time whim them, you want to share your experiences; you want to engage in long conversations with them and most importantly get to know them. And the more you get to know her the more you love her, the more you love her the more you want to get to know her, because the reason you fell in love was that she was gorgeous and fascinating and exciting.

When you embark on a love relationship with a language it is exactly the same, and the same rules apply. Even thou your language wont have a body, it definitely has a soul and many many faces that you will need to get to know, that you will need to spend time with and figure out her changeable nature. Sometimes you’ll get moody and bored, but it doesn’t mean the relationship is over, it might mean that you have to explore her from a different angle, this can mean changing the book, your teacher, the website you’re learning on, and drift to more exciting places where your love affair can continue to flourish
